U-Type screw conveyor is a highly efficient continuous conveying device, widely used in metallurgy, building materials, chemical, grain processing and machinery manufacturing industries.

 

During operation, rotating spiral blades push materials forward steadily. Material self-weight and friction between materials and the conveyor shell prevent materials from rotating with the blades. We adopt three spiral blade types including solid, belt and vane types to fit different conveying materials.

 

Thrust bearings are set at the end of the spiral shaft to bear axial counterforce. For long-body conveyors, extra middle hanger bearings are added to keep stable operation.

 

Ⅰ. Classification & Application

 

U-Type screw conveyors are mainly divided into horizontal and vertical types, specially designed for powdery, granular and small lump bulk materials conveying.

 

It is widely applied in building materials, chemical, electric power, metallurgy, coal and grain industries, realizing horizontal and inclined conveying of coal, slag, cement, grain and other materials. It also plays a core supporting role in concrete batching plants.

 

This conveyor is not suitable for conveying perishable, high-viscosity or easy-caking materials.

 

Ⅱ. Technical Features

 

The conveyor consists of a drive unit, sealed trough and spiral components. It realizes stable material conveying through spiral rotation.

 

There are three mainstream spiral blade structures. The vane type is less commonly used, which can convey high-viscosity compressible materials and complete material stirring and mixing during conveying.

 

Ⅲ. Core Advantages

 

Compared with other conveying equipment, this U-Type screw conveyor has clear practical strengths: small cross-section size, great sealing performance, stable operation and low manufacturing cost.

 

It supports flexible mid-way feeding and discharging, allows reverse or two-way simultaneous conveying. It can complete material stirring, mixing, heating and cooling during conveying, and material flow can be adjusted freely through discharge gates.

 

Vertical type is suitable for short-distance vertical lifting. Flexible screw conveyors with flexible shafts and rubber blades can be arranged freely to adapt to complex on-site working conditions.

 

In actual use, avoid conveying large lump, sticky and perishable materials. Keeping good equipment sealing and reasonable gaps between spiral and trough can reduce wear and prolong service life effectively.
